Dr. Mohammed Tarek Alam
Dr. Professor Mohammed Tarek Alam completed his MBBS from Dhaka Medical College and later pursued his post-graduation in the United States. He is a United States board certified Doctor of Medicine in internal and respiratory medicine. One of the most eminent respiratory physicians of Bangladesh, Dr. Alam has over 27 years of experience, including working at Brooklyn Jewish Medical Center, New York, Bangladesh Medical College and Hospital, United Hospital, and Lab Aid, Dhaka. Over the course of his career, Dr. Alam attended several workshops and trainings abroad in Australia, Geneva, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia and Thailand. He is serving as a devoted researcher of Shomman Foundation. Through Shomman, he opted to improve the health and well-being of the domestic workers of our society and strongly believes that only ‘moral movement’ can transform today’s chaotic world. An adept author, a devoted researcher, a human-right activist and a maestro in respiratory medicine, Dr. Alam has dedicated his skills and knowledge to this nation and to the world as a whole in hope of combatting the COVID-19 pandemic to save humanity. He is currently working as the primary investigator of the study on Ivermectin and Doxycycline for COVID-19 conducted in Bangladesh Medical College and was also on the advisory board of the study done by ICDDRB.
